On my first day I made friends with an elephant.

Yes. A fucking Elephant. Right in the middle of Khao San Road, the place we were staying at and the capital of Thailand.

Khao San Road is way awesome and a must go for anybody going to Bangkok. Going to Bangkok without going to Khao San Road is like being a fucking dickhead. Khao San Road is bustling with life nd filled to the brim with people from all the three corners of the world.

This photo doesn’t really do the Road justice. It was taken at a quiet part of Khao San Road and at four AM. But it’s the only picture of Khao San Road I have. Who the hell spends a vacation taking photos?

Khao San Road is the shit. They sell everything, from switchblades to fake IDs and fake everythings. If you buy something for $99.99 back home, you can find it here for $9.99. The beers are cheap, the pubs are awesome and the street food is fit for Gods.

Everywhere, you see tourists sporting the distinctive Mark Of A Foreigner:  Dreadlocks or braided hair.

Seriously. For every ten tourists you see, five have either dreads or braids. Even I got my self some.

For these four days in Bangkok, me and my buddies have done zero research.

I have to leave for Bangkok in about half an hour and I have only just started packing. I am bringing one t-shit and three underwears. Screw you you red squiggly line.

This is going to be fun. My mom just walked in the door and asked me for my flight number. I was unable to answer.

 Took them when I was there about two years ago, with a Nokia 3250. It is the crappiest camera ever, the pictures are grainy and the colors suck, but somehow i just love the effects. It’s like a modern day holga.

Too bad I sold the phone. But it’s okay since I sold it for forty bucks. In the condition it was in, it was probably not even worth ten.

We would be leaving on the 22nd and comeing on the 25th of Feburary.

It appears that we are not going on an epic Indochina trip anymore.  Khoon has to come back on the 24th for his stupid exams. That leaves us only four days.

So we would most likely be just hanging around in Thailand.

I hate you Khoon.

The inevitable has finally dawned upon me. I have traveled so much that my passport has ran out of pages.

This sucks DICK.

Now I have to make my way all the way down to the embassy in the wee hours of the morning to get myself new passport.  Yes, a new passport. A while back people could just add pages, but now we have to get a new passport.

The embassy just wants to suck our blood.

The pilgrimage will start from Singapore, where we would take a dirt cheap flight to Bangkok. It cost like fifty bucks. Don’t you just love social unrest?

We would hang around in Bangkok for a day or two, eating baluts and watching muay thai fights.

Then we would take a train to Aranyaprathet, a few kilometers from the Cambodian frontier. The train ride is also dirt cheap, it’s less than two dollars.

After that, we would cross the border with a tuk-tuk. At the other side of the border, we would take a taxi to Siem Reap.

Once in Siem Reap, we would hang around looking at their boring temples and also stay the night.

After which, we would take a boat to Phnom Penh. Yes, a boat.

From Phnom Penh, we would take a bus to Ho Chi Minh City, Nam.

I have traveled plenty before, but this is the first time I am going to be crossing borders in crappy third world countries. I am awesomely psyched.
